Fire Island Inlet

The earlyish forecast per NOAA is winds out of the South at 5-10 mph, 2-4 foot seas. Does that make for a dangerous situation at Jones Inlet? I hear southerly winds are the worst at JI. I'll be entering the inlet during a rising tide (probably 3 hours before high tide).

Came in fire island inlet at 7:15pm never saw anything below 8' most of the time it was 12'. I stayed tight to the red bouy's the whole time. No problem
