I had a situation last season where I had to cut the speaker hole at the helm larger so I could access the throttle controller. Instead of glassing it in I'd like to install a speaker enclosure/cup holder combo. The problem is the fire extinguisher at the helm seat won't fit where Sea Ray mounted it. I'd like to re-mount it horizontally on the gunnel, in the storage compartment under the helm seat. Is this ok or is it a violation if it's not in the open? According to MA boating laws it says "Extinguishers should be placed in an accessible area—not near the engine or in a compartment, but where they can be reached immediately."
