Hi All
Thought id share my problem to see if anyone has experience in this.
My 315 is lives in a outdoor storage facility. Every time it rains i get water in the shower sump bilge area as per pic attached(pic shows little water in there when it actually gets quite full to the point the carpet in cabin starts absorbing it). Originally i thought it was the port holes as they were leaking but i have fixed them and still water in the shower sump bilge area. I now have full covers and clears so the cockpit is not getting any water in it but still getting water in the shower sump bilge area.
Any suggestions?

Just another question. Should the are not drain back to the engine bilge???? Is there a drain hole behind the shower sump pump?
Thanks in advance
John

There are many possible causes for the water leaks. I would check the port lights first. The port light seals on my 280da went bad. Water entered ran behind the wall lining on the port side and ended up in the mid bilge. Check whether the carpet in front on the main breaker panel is wet. Another source of water is the rub rail. The screws are not sealed well and can allow water to enter. Others have had problems with the windshield screw holes. It's a process of elimination to find the problem.

Good places to look mentioned above. And I'll second checking the head portlight again - rain will do exactly as Jim mentioned - get between the head liner and the hull and end up exactly where you see it. But, of course, water can end up there from other areas, too. Simulate rain with a hose in various spots for a few minutes each and see what happens.

Also... that hose appears to be ready to fall off.

Yeah process of elimination alright. The pic is an early photo when i just bought the boat 3 months ago. I have since cleaned it all up and hoses connected well.
The cabin carpet is dry.
Yes the port lights were leaking inside the cabin before and i have stopped this by attaching neoprene strip to glass to give it a stronger seal which has worked.
Are you guys saying the port light may be leaking from the outside around the frame ??
Also is there not a hole in the mid bilge to drain this water to the engine bilge??

Yes, the portlights can leak AROUND the SS flange. Look closely at the sealant - especially the topside. The water will then run down between the outer hull and the fiberglass head liner. Were you not able to tighten the (3) small latches a bit to seal the glass to the rubber better?

No, there is no hole/connection between the cabin and the bilge. There can not be one. If there was, you could get bilge water coming forward, along with engine room fumes... bad idea.
