We bought our boat the 3rd week in December. There were a few minor repairs needed as well as new camper canvas to order. All we asked was for her to be ready by April 15th. "Take your time (big mistake)....no rush." Several thousand dollars later (not including canvas), Bill drove her home last week (May...not April). Still no canvas. They came last week and did the framing. They said it would be a few more weeks before the canvas will be installed. Since they were paid 1/2 of the bill in February, I guess we will wait until July. I would not recommend them though. They said 6 weeks start to finish. That was in February.
We will not rename her until everything else is installed. So for now she is still "It's All Good".
Bill is headed to Chattanooga for boys trip this coming weekend so he's happy.:smt038

Hey Swimparent, My 300 has the same slanting canvas that yours has over the driver's position. I am interested in getting a more stand up kind with eisenglass to look thru. Is that what you are getting or are you replacing the same design?

We are getting the camper canvas that makes it taller in the front with the eisenglass. As it is now, Bill cannot stand up while driving which is a pain, not to mention dangerous, while getting on plane. When we get pics I will post them. It is supposed to have zippers everywhere for all sorts of configuarations (just top, top & sides, etc) and have screens so it has ventilation. He was not very happy about not having it for the trip to Chattanooga this weekend. If he had not already given them a $3200 check in February I think he would have said to h%*# with it and started over with someone else. These folks are supposed to be the best but apparently they are very busy.

This site has been invaluable since we found this boat in December. If Bill ever has a question, I just jump on this forum and have had an answer usually within a day. It is a great resource. We love people who love boats. Being on the Tennessee River we see pleasure boaters from all over the world...literally. From the Tenn-Tom to Chattanooga is a side trip for many of the looper boats. If you ever find yourself down this way, we would love to have you for dinner.

And Doc....you can just hop on your boat and head up our way. We have a friend who is a retired physician who is now a licensed captain. He is on his way home from Clearwater with a boat for a guy in Georgia. He has brought boats to our area from as far away as Canada. I am sure he would loan you charts for the trip up :) As a matter of fact, you could catch a ride up the Tenn-Tom with him and we would find you a way home.

I would love to take my boat up to Lake Guntersville someday. It really is beautiful up there. I have ridden my motorcycle several times thru the hills and along the lake. Like to stop at Wentzell's for food.
I have been boat (and motorcycle) grounded for two months now. My boat is hanging in a lift above the currently still pretty waters of Mobile Bay awaiting my return. My wife is running for state legislature (www.aprilweaver.com) for district 49 and every spare minute of our lives has been consumed by campaigning. Only 8 more days and if she can avoid a runoff, I will be back in the saddle and on the boat again!

Congrats. Yeah anytime you think you have lots of time and give it to a shop, you get leap frogged over when Mr. CanIhaveitbackintwoweeks comes into the shop. So then the shop gets busy in March and they think they still have a month before you call. When you're busy time flies so that month evaporates and you call looking for your boat. Now you're just one of all the masses trying to get going this spring. It sucks. Good luck.
