So. There is no way in hell i ever eould have gotten that drive on without the tool. I moved the eye of the bearing u till i could slide the tool in realitively easy. With even spline markes all arounf the tool. Cleaned up outdrive and gimbal one final times And slid her on. The drive went in all the way untill i had about an inch or two left. A quick tap with the foot and it popped on.

now for the fun part. I fired it up in the driveway. While it was running i added some more grease through the bearing.
i checked fwd Reverse And neutral several times. I have no noise. No growling. And no vibrations turning full port to full sbd.

i re winterized and put her away.

so Do yall think im good. If i had any problens or the bearing was in wrong. If assume id have some strange noises.

Of couse I wont know completley without a sea trial. But im pretty certain ill be ok.

btw The eye in the bearing us stiff as hell untill you get the initial movement out of it. Then its much easier to align.
