I have read many posts on fibreglass buffing, waxing, polishing, etc.. but find no info on type of bonnet to use on my buffer with different products. Wool for oxidation removal?? Foam for Finesse?? Cotton for which?

It would be appreciated if someone would list what type pads to use with each type surface application.

Thanks

I am not an expert but 'white wool' for oxidation, compound etc.. For polish use a closed foam pad, I used blue yesterday. As far a bonnets are concerned, they are expensive. I have a 7 inch variable speed rotary polisher, I put a microfibre towel over top of the foam pad then tucked the edges under the pad. I then used it at the slowest speed possible. That worked great.

But I am no expert - yesterday was my first day with the machine and pads.

I use a clean wool bonnet for both polishing and waxing. I works just fine. Don't use the same pad for both tasks though.
