Just wondering what anybody's experience was with these. While waxing the boat yesterday I noticed a Spider crack the size of my hand on the forward hull side about two feet above the water line that I know wasn't there last year. The boat is a 99 460DA. This is my 6th SeaRay and I never seen this before. Any opinion's would be appreciated, Thank's Paul

I'm guessing here since we don't have any photos, but "forward hull side 2' above the water line" is not an area normally associated with stress cracking due to pooling of gelcoat in the mold leaving a thick area which is subject to cracking. From your description it seems the area would be flat and the cracking in a circular shape?? This sounds like an area of previous physical damage either fixed or not where something hit the boat.

Thank's Guy's for the replie's, I tried to take a close up pic today but the crack didn't show up in the shot. I have taken a pic of the area taped off. I have had some fiberglass work done in the past and can usually spot a repair but this seem like original gel coat. Just wondering if it it cause for concern before I splash in a couple week's, Thanks' Paul

Former owner slammed a bouy at 25 knots-don't worry about it. It only cracked the hull and didn't punch a hole.
Probably just a minor impact or poor repair.
Love those 460's by the way. Nice boat!

Can you tell if there's an origination point (something like a bull's eye pattern, for example) or a pattern to the cracking? Can you take a close-up shot? Is there a bulkhead on the inside of that spot?

Thank's all for the replies, especially Skuza. I tried to take a close up Dennis, but the crack is so faint it would'nt show up. It doesnt' appear to have a bullseye pattern. I measured it and will keep an eye on it over the summer when I wash the boat. Thank's again.
