These are some pictures of my new fender covers - I have never really been a fender guy, much less a fender cover guy, but my friends brother bought this company http://www.mainecoastmarineproducts.com/ and convinced me I needed covers! Fender2.jpgFender3.jpgFender1.jpg

I am a firm believer in fender covers as it minimizes the wear on the gelocoat if you keep them clean! I use the poly form elite model as they seem to hold less water.
How much did these cost and what size fender? They look great!

Very nice. For those of us on the lower end of the pay scale, you can get two covers out of a set of $10 sweat pants from WalMart.

My covers were $35 plus $7 for embroidery.....I talked to Maine Coast and they offered 25% off for a group buy ($26.25 for the htm-2 size covers I have) plus $7 if you want embroidery. Of course we could mix and match sizes and colors, but we would need to order at least 25 pieces. Otherwise, they offered up a 10% discount using a promotion code on the website....let me know if there is any interest and I'll try to coordinate it.

I also have Maine coast fender covers . My only issue is they fade almost immediately .. They are only used on weekends if at all. They fade within first month . But they last forever

Its funny you say that - they talked me out of getting black for that very reason - and they also said the same thing about longevity - they said their only repeat customers are because of fading, loss, or upgrading to a different boat/fenders. they definitely don't build them to "self destruct" after a season or two....nice to hear the claims are true! After a couple of months in the south Florida summer sun, my grey ones are still "as delivered"

Have been through several sets of fender covers over the years, and have to give a shout out to Andrew at North Star Products (www.northstarproductsinc.com) custom made out of black Sunbrella (I have big fenders and thought $25/ea for them was dirt cheap. I didn't check on embroidery, but I have an embroidery guy at a sports shop in town I use anyway. I won't go back to fleece anytime soon...caught too much grit and the fading was excessive for us (even though we are under cover much of the time. Like the idea of Wally World jogging pants, though.

I was always under the impression covers can hold sand and dirt and scratch the gel coat a lot worse than the bumper itself.

I bought my first set of covers from Main Coast, when I got Inspiration. Loved the softness and quality. The covers lasted for less than 2 seasons before loosing the color (obviously black was the color I needed). Ever since, they remained brown and no longer as soft as they were originally. I use them as my dock fenders (only 3 had survived). I switched brands for my travel fender.

My next attempt was to try going with Cape Hatteras covers. Over 3 years later they look and feel as the day I got them.
