Anyone ever put an additional 2 cleats to hang two rear quarter fenders on a 2006 260 Sundancer? They have stock them on the 240 Sundancer and 280 Sundancer but not on the 260!!! The 260 only has two stern rear facing cleats which are not very condusive to attaching my rear fenders.

I want to drill 4 holes for the SS 2" self tapping screws to hold 2 Perco cleats either on the top deck or the side of the hull to hold these fenders.

Am I crazy or will this work? I would use 3M 5200 to seal and adhere around the screws also. :smt101 How thick is the top deck or side hull? :smt100

Advice appreciated!

It will work but only for a while, until you tear out cleat from fiberglass. You need to add piece of good quality plywood on underside to create backing plate. It think minimum 6"x8". Best way would be to seal wood with resin or something similar or will rot. And remember to install cleats so they are not sticking out more than rub-rail or you leave them on first pole with big hole in your topside
