Anyone planing to get transient boat slips this summer in the inner harbor should take into account two huge celebrations. The first is the War of 1812 and the second is the Fells Point Festival. To give you an idea of the demand for slips. We reserved our slip at Inner Harbor East yesterday for the Festival and our Yacht Club's Frostbite Cruise in Oct. We were told that they expect to be totally booked for that date in a few days and it's only Jan. Just a heads up for our boating friends.

George,

That is not usual for any major event in Baltimore and for that matter other towns on the Chesapeake as well. Rock Hall for example fills up very quickly the weekend of their Pirate Festival. We have made our reservations already for the Tall Ship / Blue Angels show at the Inner Harbor in June, and for Rock Hall Pirate Festival August. So it is good advice to plan your trips early and make the reservations.

Last season we stayed at Inner Harbor East for the CSR gathering, the Grand Prix Race, and the Fell’s Point Festival and had a great time at all of them. Great location! This year we are staying at Harbor View for the air show, just across the harbor from Inner Harbor East.

Hi Bill,
Yes we who go there a lot know but I was thinking more of folks who will travel a great distance only to be disappointed. I plan on being anchored outside the Patapsco when the tall ships leave just like they did years ago. I think our Yacht Club opening is the week end of the 1812 festivities so we will miss most of that. We like Harbor East because it is close to some great restaurants. That week end is a triple whammy because it is the Fells Point Festival, Columbus Day weekend and ours and other Yacht Clubs Frostbite Cruise. Hope to hook up this year on the water or in the Bodkin.
