A Great Friend, Husband and Father died yesterday. WBMBA Board Member Chris Tobiasz was injured and died while boating on vacation in the 1000 Islands. Words can't express my sorrow to his friends & family. We will never forget you Doc. Chris loved his 260 Sundeck and vacationed with it every year...can't imagine what happened. Please pray for his wife and children. She, also a MD, is still in the hospital recovering from the trauma...not sure if their son (20) and daughter (23) are there with them....just so sad.

Mike, so sorry to hear of this tragic loss.

I am saddened to read this. All of my prayers to the family and to his close CSR friends.

Please everyone, boat safe.

So very sorry for this tragic loss.

The whole incident is tragic and someone is going to have to live with this for the rest of their life.

My prayers to all involved.

My Condolences on your loss. How does something like that happen? Why wasn't the engine turned off?

We are not sure if the engine was on or off yet...he has a 496 BravoIII and the blades are sharp....foot may have slipped off the boarding ladder while boarding....just not sure yet the position of the outdrive when this happened. One news feed said he was hit by the spinning prop? Not even sure yet who was driving. Just sad because this should never happen...thanks for the prayers, Mike.

My condolences....so sad. My guess is that the driver engaged the throttle assuming Christopher was out of the water. Very tragic and it's why I am not a fan of skiing and wake boarding behind an I/O.
