FedEx frustration

I’m not sure where Chewy gets shipped from, but it usually shows up the next day after I’ve ordered it…maybe the second day, must be magic lol.

They have a large warehouse near Plainfield, Indiana.

Even McMaster-Carr is two to three days and their shipping cost has tripled. It used to be delivered the next day.

I figured it wasn’t far from me, does Chewy have its own drivers? I did see someone pull up and deliver in a regular vehicle before.

No idea, I've just seen their hiring billboards. I've had both FedEx Ground and UPS delivery via a regular, unmarked car before - although typically just around the holidays...

Hey...got my package today! ordered it 1/26 and it shipped out 1/27

That sounds incredibly frustrating! Dealing with unreliable tracking updates and delays in receiving your package can be really frustrating, especially when you're eagerly awaiting something important like a new switch for your home network.
Can’t you bots read dates ?

Any bot can only be as smart as the clown that wrote its software.
That is why they seem so thick on message boards. They are practicing and trying to impersonate
16 active brain cells, although the ones here quite obviously have not attained that end.

While the bots can't/won't be offended by reading that, hopefully the clowns responsible can and will be.

Ironically I had another issue with a FedEx package just 2 weeks ago. Grove City, Ohio again tracking says it left there but no further updates and the package never showed up. The company submitted for a lost package and sent another one but ended up taking 2 weeks to get a package that was 5 hours from my house. I have lost all faith in FedEx and will try my beat to avoid buying from any company that uses them unless I'm ok waiting for a month for my item.

Ordered a new switch for my home network on 1/26 coming from California. Got my tracking number and tried setting alerts up on the FedEx site but can only set up email alerts. Text alerts keep giving an error. Ok...no problem. Well the last time FedEx updated the tracking number was on 2/2. In fact when I click on the link it says can't be found but when I go directly to the FedEx site and paste the tracking number it shows last updated at about 4:00PM leaving Grove City, Ohio. I'm near Pittsburgh, PA. Pretty sure I could have got it here from 4 hours away in less than 3 days. But even if there were issues going to hub A then hub B etc you would think they would still update the tracking history...nope. So no idea where this thing is now. Sent a message to Newegg customer service tonight but don't expect a response until Monday at least. Not Neweggs fault. Switch went out next morning...ugh
I live about 2 miles from the FedEx hub in Grove City, Ohio. I have ordered items and watch them show up at the Grove City hub only to be shipped to Tennessee before coming back to Grove City before delivery. I had one item that came out of Wisconsin ended up in Grove City shipped to Tennessee, then to Chicago then back to Grove City. I found someone that has a daughter that works there (they employee a lot of college students) and she told me that most of the employees do not know the zip codes so when they are sorting packages if they don't know the zip cod they will just throw it on a conveyor line and it gets shipped around until someone knows the proper place to send it. It is very frustrating.

Since COVID we have all seen fuel soar, did the people in the delivery cycle get 100% pay increases? or are the executive home offices become Island villas? All my shipping costs have at minimum doubled. Yes, I just pass it on to my customers. Next I'll tell you about Sherwin Williams Polane paint costs.
