The port side tach is flashing "FAULT-SENSOR, then, FAULT-TPS"... what does that mean?? Should I replace the Throttle position switch or is there something else wrong? The engine seems to run fine.

Please help

Thanks
Jerry

I had a Merc qualified mechanical come out and hook up his lap top. The Smartcarft reported that I was over reving the engine. It was a dumb rookie mistake. When I was starting the engine I was giving it the throttle instead of letting the fuel injection system do its job. I leaned a valuable lesson and the TPS sensors are fine. And now when I start the engines I dont tough the throttles ;-)

Thanks, yes I saw that in the SmartCraft book also. I was hoping it was simpler then that. So I guess youre saying it could be many things...

This may now seem like a dumb question...How does one have their boat "seen by a dealer?" Do Sea Ray dealers do "marina calls"?.. seriously, whats the typical next step? I cant exactly drive my boat to them like a car.

You could get any qualified Merc Technician out. He may be from your SR dealer, or from another shop nearby.

Yes, any Mercruiser-Certified shop should be able to help you.

And, yes, most dealers will do dock calls, but expect $$$.
