Just in time for the holiday weekend, Pep Boys is running a 35% off promotion on many types of batteries--auto, marine, and otherwise--including Optima BlueTops, good through 7/11 (store pickups must be completed by 7/10). I'm hoping they have an internal price match guarantee....I bought 2 a couple of weeks ago, but they were only 25% off then!

(I have no affiliation with Pep Boys other than a good online battery buying experience, just thought I'd pass it along in case anyone else wants to save a few boat bucks.)

Do you have a link for the promotion? I'm only seeing 25% off on their website. I compared the sale price on the Optima's at Pep Boys and found that Amazon is actually quite a bit cheaper...plus free 2 day shipping if you have Amazon Prime. Amazon is $239.03 for the D31M vs. $307.99 at Pep Boys.

$307.99*75%=$230.99. Things that make you go HMMMMM.

Advance auto sells them at their bigger stores, coupon code trt41 gets 400 off 100$ on their website.

They also sell them as "used" batteries after they sit on the shelf for 18 months. (About 80 bucks).

You just have to ask.

PEP35BATT is the promo code. The main website banner shows 25%, but once you start a battery search you'll see the 35% promo on individual listings. So $307.99*0.65=$200.19+core+tax. You might still be pretty close, depending on whether you have to pay sales tax on Amazon where you live (a while back we didn't have to in TN, but now we do).

Timing is everything, and geography is something. Didn't see such low prices on Amazon during my earlier search, and Advance and the other local shops tend not to stock the 31 as much as they do the 27 and 34. Once tax and core fee factor, Amazon saves me $10, but I can pick up the battery sooner locally. (I'm Prime-less)

So T or T depending on where you are and what you need!

I got mine from Amazon last time around.

Oooops...my bad. I thought the $307 was the discounted price. Yes, $200 is a great price.
