It seems my Transducer may not be working? Depth and sea temp are not working on the guages? Any ideas to check and see if it is not working other than the lack of readings?

Also can I use the factory Transducer with an aftermarket gps/finder?

Did this just stop working all of a sudden? Has it been working fine previously? I would first check the connection where the transducer plugs in to the engine harness which should be on the top, front of the engine. If that is fine, we can look at other things.

Technically yes, the Data from the transducer (and other Smartcraft data) can be mapped to a NMEA2K compatible GPS/Plotter however that would require a Merc Monitor to bridge the Smartcraft data to the GPS.

Money wise, it would be much cheaper to buy another ducer for your GPS unless you just want the Smartcraft info on your plotter. I would say $600 vs. $150 and that is if you can do it all yourself.

I just purchased the boat a few weeks ago and it apparantly has not worked since I owned it.

I actually already purchased the transom mount transducer to go with the gps, I was just wondering if it would be easier to use the factory unit instead of having to drill holes in the boat and figuring out where/how to run cables, but for the difference in price it looks like the aftermarket unit may be the way to go.

Still would be nice to have the transducer installed for the smart craft working, I checked connections this morning see fine i guess the next step would be to buy a new one?
