Had a great time with Buckeye Boater and his wife.Was great having someone who knows the lake as will as BB. does.Stayed the night at Kelleys Island.Inspected the engine compartment to find 2 quarts of oil in the bilge. Spent the next hour looking for the leak to see if I could make the trip back home with no luck.Went to the store and bought 4 quarts of oil for the trip home.Engine ran fine oil pressure good made the trip home with no problems.When I got home I had 4 quarts of oil in the bilge.So I cleaned the bilge and hosed the motor down to find a hole the size of a large screwdriver on the top of the mechanical fuel pump and the top of the diaphragm which acted like a oil pump .

Pumps on order and I'm not planing on going out over the crazy summer holiday so its all good .I'm just glad I could find the leak and it was nothing major.I was not in the mood to roll up my sleeves to do a head gasket job.

Sorry to hear about the mechanical issues and glad you made it back safely.

There is a lot to see and do in and around the island area. We only saw a few places - Put in Bay, Middle Bass, and Kelley's. To the north you have Pelee Island. To the east is Sandusky Bay and Cedar Point. Beyond that is Huron and Vermillion.

As I suggested, invest in a chart of the area so you'll have a better idea where you can and cannot go. There are several areas where the water gets very skinny.
