Exhaust Temp

No - not yet, still waiting for MAN man to call me, I have had a busy week so far so I have not called, him. I will probably call him in the morning. I will let you know, and take picts of where some of the sensors are, when he shows me.
 
Update - I still have not pinned my MAN mechanic down for a time to meet me, but after running a nice trip this weekend, 3 hours each way. The difference is now about 20 - 30 degrees, so still want to switch the sensors and see if it follows, but I think it is better then 50 - 80 degrees difference. Maybe I am just telling myself it is better!
 
Restricted Water Flow is your most likely culprit. Pop off those raw water pump end caps and check out the impellers, if any vanes are misssing it will be obvious. If broken impeller vanes can pass down stream to the Aftercooler or HE they can restrict water flow as well.

The reduced volume in the raw water side due to build up of sediments could be the cause, but it would seem radical to have one engine get this problem and not the other, they drink from the same pond.

Simple owner performed work would be to trace the raw water flow from the through hull fitting to the exhaust elbow. Its really simple to remove clamps & hoses and look inside. The trouble can sometimes be very obvious.
