Folks,
Based on the good advice provided on this forum and the experience of others here, I emailed Mercury today regarding the exhaust manifolds on my 2005 340 Sundancer. Specifically, I asked whether the engines were fitted with aluminum manifolds and I provided my engine serial numbers. According to the response that I received back from Mercury, the exhaust manifolds "are made from stainless steel." While I guess I'm relieved that they're not aluminum, I thought the other alternative was cast iron. As a general question, are, or were, the exhaust manifolds produced by Mercrusier made with stainless? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
