Got a bit of a mystery. My '07 320da has about 105 hours on 350 mags with Bravo 3's. Last weekend while rafting up for an overnight with friends, my buddy noticed a noise when I came alongside that I would describe as "popping". Sounded like an exhaust leak. Checked into it more the next day and speculated it might be flappers as it has a bit of a metallic sound.
Had my dealer check yesterday and they said it is blown exhaust manifold gaskets, on the starboard side of both engines. What I'm scratching my head over is the coincidence of having that happen on the same side of both engines at the same time.
Thought I would see if any of our CSR sages have any theories?
