Pretty sure I have a leaky gasket. I hear a snapping sound which varies with rpm. Is there any way to check for sure? How do you know which manifold?

Are these original 2008 manifolds and gaskets we are talking about? Or have they ever been replaced?

Are you sure it's not a plug wire?

They are original. Freshwater only. I replaced plug wires last year.

Or I could use my scanner and shut off 1 cylinder at a time. I like that better than the grab test!

Actually book says misfire test disables the fuel injector not the spark……so

Any reason I couldn’t disconnect plug wires at the dist cap one at a time, start engine. Maybe put a rubber plug in the cap.

If the noise is coming from spark you would see it at night just by looking, if the snapping is coming from exhaust you'll see carbon track. Use a mirror to look under the manifolds
