I was lucky to notice that the stainless flapper and the rubber piece around the exhaust thru-hull fitting was starting to come out. It slid right out. It is rubber and is glued into the stainless fitting. Any recommendations on adhesive. It doesn't make affect anything. Just aesthetics.

How much contact area is there? I would think Life Calk or 5200 should be fine. I say Life Calk because that stuff can even be put on under water. I'm not sure about the 5200. But, either should work - especially if you're doing it out of the water.

It is basically a rubber hose that is about 1-1/2" long. The factory mfg of the fitting did not use much glue. Do you think the heat from the exhaust will have much effect on 5200 or Life Calk?

Good point. I didn't think about that. Maybe there's info on their website about heat? I honestly don't know if it's OK or not.

How about some Permatex Ultra Copper RTV? That stuff can take some high heat. It sounds like it doesn't necessarily need something with a super-high adhesion like Life Calk or 5200, anyways?

This past winter when our boat was out of the water, the dealer noticed that both flappers were missing on our 320. I asked aboput replacing them and he told that SR did not make/offer a replacement flapper. I would have to replace the entire exhaust port.

I asked what effect that would have on the boat and all he said was "just makes the exhaust louder and I kinda like it that way."

So I'm not worrying about it. Doesn't seem to affect anything.

Thanks, my dock neighbor replaced just his flapper insert on his 06 - 340. The dealer ordered it.

Thanks everyone.
