Excitement in the House!!

Well...today was a big day and has been a little stressful for the past couple weeks. We had the surveys completed today and just a few minor issues that are being taken care of. SOOO we went ahead and plunged forward with the purchase of the 2005 390 DA with twin QSB 380's! The mechanic stated that I have a pretty solid boat that will hold its value. These boats are pretty rare out here on the west coast and been looking for 2 years. I am totaly numb right now from the long day and has yet to set in. Its being bottom painted and some light repairs and looking sooo forward to the 4 hour trip back home! It turns out that the owner did have the boat re-propped and she has a second set of props. I ...wanna thank everyone for their advise and suggestions they really did factor in towards this purchase! Once I figure out how to post pics I will.
Congrats! Where is it currently located? Long runs to your home port are always a good opportunity to get to feel the boat. Bring someone that is experienced with you to make things more comfortable for you and help you start to understand your new baby! Posting pictures is pretty easy, even easier if you sponsor the site. If you go to the tab above that shows "support this site" and donate to keep this the best boating forum on the internet.

Hey guys thank you sooo much! The boat was kept in Pittsberg and is being bottom painted in Antioch. I am picking hoping to pick it up on Friday and heading out Friday Morning. All depends on my the delivery of my first Grandson. He is due this weekend so its kinda in the air. They plan on inducing labor Sunday. But who knows with this baby thing. We're pretty lucky....were getting "2 Babys" in the same weekend...how cool is that? Might name the boat "The Big EZ" I dont know how serious you are and I, Rusty, know your on the east coast and would love for you and Ken to ride along. I got my wife, 22yr old son and myself. I used to operate a 360 aft Cabin and been driving this boat some. Just knockin off some cob webs. I would love to meet the both of you and im sure its just a matter of time since you also belong to the club out here Rusty. We have a good break in the weather here in california and going to try to take advantage of it. Rusty I would still love to chat with you so any time would be great with me. Still have some question. My head is still spinning from what i read here on the forum and can make one paranoid. And Ken I will be contacting you here shortly, I am sure your a boat load of info that can settle my run away thoughts. I'll PM you as well. Sorry if this dont make too much sence but I am still in la la land with excitement. Again thanks guys!!!

Where are you going to keep the boat Ray? There are several friends of ours that live in the Elk Grove area and keep there boats on the Delta Loop in Isleton. Only about a 40 minute drive but has better access to more of the Delta. Way easier to drive your car a bit farther than the boat! We live in Pittsburg and drive to Isleton to get to the boat. People that keep their boats in Sacramento tend to stay up there since it's so far to get to other areas. Beautiful boat, who was the broker?

Hey Ken...this was a private deal. Went down very well. We use to keep our Aft Cabin at the Delta Bay Club and Tower Park. For some reason we got busy with family and it was ouitta site outta mind. The boat wasnt used as much as we wanted to. I think it was also due to family and all....new borns. They are all out ot the house now so we were considering doing it again. My wifes work is literally 1/2 mile from the marina and she is looking forward in going right from work to the boat. But your right about the trip down....costly.
Capt Rusty...your alright, your a busy man so no worries!! We will catch up and when your in the area, love to meet up with you. This winter Ill be tinkering in doing all the minor repairs and upgrades for sure. Talk to you guys soon!

Well, how was the maiden voyage?

Welllll....we left the Pittsburg area pretty nervous but felt confident. The original owner was to give me some helm time prior and never did, We got a late start and had a great cruise up to Walnut Grove. We spent the night there due to the sun was going to set in an hour or so. Nervous putting it into a guest slip first time but nailed it. I was very nervous but it was like riding a bike. Got up the next morning had breakfast at Almas and headed out on the second half of our journey. Totally enjoying life the wife and I! Made it to sac in a few hours, lot a small boats fishin. Saw one idiot in a bigger boat pass going the other way not paying attention and swamped a small boat. People had to swim to shore. They were ok but pissed!! Wife a little nervous. Got into sac and not even 10 minutes and a boat catches fire at the ramp, 24 footer. Watched that burn and fire dept. put it out pushin it to center of river with water hose where it caught fire again, now drifting down river. Wife now lookin at me with "what did we get into" eyes! Can't lie... that crap scares the crap outta me to!!!! Anyway we are still on the boat enjoying the hell out of it!!!! Cleaning scrubbing and gettin all organized!! All I have to say is DAMN! it is so much fun maneuvering this thing! Guy here that works at the marina named " Lucky" us sooo cool! Helping me out with all kinds of things. He's Like an old salty dawg! It was a good and crazy adventure and lookin forward to the next!

Sounds like an interesting trip! She will become more relaxed as you become more comfortable in all situations. What marina are you at now?
