Over the years I've had several simple tire gages, tried a few cheap car tire pumps, etc. With 15 tires to care for, soon to be 20, I broke down last year and went shopping for something nice. For a simple use environment, the dollars invested here get you beyond the basics.

Rugged tire gage / inflator - auto shop quality, totally worth it......American made, came in a vintage box that made one think of good old fashioned American quality.....The design is probably 60 years old.

Milton 506

Compressor - complete overkill for my needs, but quiet, high quality, it will last me a lifetime. May need to buy a finish nailer and put up some trim! At work, I hear pancake compressors in action, and they will make your head pound. This thing is the Benz of small compressors.

Makita MAC 700

Hose - Basic item, but the 25' seems to be perfect for getting around in a 4 car garage. May have to move the compressor once to get to everything.

I'm jealous, I just have a crappy 12V road pal. Its nice to have a quality tire gauge and a compressor that doesn't take 30 minutes to inflate a tire. All my friends seem to have nicer tools and cars than me but I have a the nicest 21' boat.

Nice looking stuff ya got there. I just have the cheapie gauges at home, but I do have an 8gallon compressor I've had for years. Down on the dock I have one of the Harbor Freight pancake compressors. It's noisy, but it fits nicely in my dock box and I only use it once a year to blow out my fresh water lines. I don't really hear it when it's running because it's in the dock box and I'm somewhere inside the boat turning faucets on and off. For the $39 it cost me I can't grip too much about the noise.

I like the air press gage, put you can have that compressor, take an hour to fill my 80 psi trailer tires............JMHO :) I have a 30 gallon IR compressor that get's er' done.

Used the same gauge for over 15 years working at auto dealer. Mine has had a crack in the sight glass for about the last 5 years I worked there. Still have it in my garage and use it 13 years after it last saw daily service at the shop. Snap On sells a nice digital gauge under the Blue Point name, but still like my old Milton! I don't think I paid that much when I bought mine, Inflation I guess! Dollar aint worth what it used to be! Link to look at Blue Point Gauge

I can tell you that it tops off my 80 psi mini spare effortlessly, and with 90 psi capacity at 3.3 cubic feet per minute sustained, my guess is it should fill most any tire very well!

Well, I bought a 5 gallon "mini" air compressor to keep at my barn where the boat is, and it would take forever to air a 15" 80psi heavy duty tire, and that's twice the size air tank as that Makita. Key word you used was mini-spare, my boat trl. tires are far from mini, JMHO

All you need now is one of these from HF I think it was $20 something, never have to unravel a messed up hose again. I'm getting a couple more for my 400' shrimp leaded lines to keep them from being a big tangled mess when we pull them and need to drop them again.
