I spent last Friday running a new radar cable up to my Raymarine radome. I was having a difficult time running a snake down from the radar arch to the bilge. I removed the speaker on the radar arch and used a small camera to take a picture to see what was blocking the snake. I wasn't expecting this:

There are several wire connections buried inside the radar arch as well as excess wiring. After several hours and some cut knuckles, I was able to get the snake through that mess. It was not an easy job.

To make matters worse, my radar is not working, Prior to going through this aggravating process I plugged the cable in to test it and my radar came back to life. After snaking the cable, through the radar arch and reinstalling, my radar is still dead. Frustrating day.

that is nothing unusual in your radar. cables for lights, speakers, nav. light, possible horn, tv,fm and vhf antennas and radar cable take space. as for your radar check fuses on wires suppling power to radar and inside radar itself and hope that radar cable didn't get damaged internally - there is many (over 10) very tin wires inside radar cable and they may brake when cable is bend too hard

And here I was going to add speakers to my Arch. Looks like I need to look into this prior to getting started !!!
