I am not a fan of carpet on the floor of the cockpit deck. So I purchased some EVA foam deck material from ebay and changed the whole look in a few hours. The material should stand up to sun, hose off easily with no staining and it's got some cushion to it as you walk on it. I think it looks a whole lot better than it did....

So I have been looking into Marine Mat which is similar to Seadek . The total cost is $ 1700. What was your cost to do it yourself. This looks like the same stuff

I used the same on my swim deck, cost me 200.00 including shipping. It gets hot in direct sunlight, too hot for bare foot.

After considering several options I just installed the Corinthian product that I ordered from member MQuiet (Matt) for a little more than half of that.
He's a vendor and I highly recommend him.
It is basically the same idea as a snap in Carpet except it is the PVC (Seagrass type) material. They offer an option for Velcro attatchment in critical spots along the edges rather than snaps which I opted for because I like the clean look and I didn't have to deal with installing snaps with no experience.
Like any of these products, it is hotter on bare feet than carpet or a bare deck. There's no getting around that. But the benefits far out weigh that one drawback.
It also requires making templates out of 6 mil plastic which is relatively quick and easy.
The factory had a template for my boat. There was a problem with the fit of one of the pieces they made from that template. I made my own for that piece, sent it to Matt, and he replaced the piece.
I strongly recommend making your own template instead of having the factory use one they may have because whatever they have is only as good as the guy who made it for his boat.
The piece I made the template for is perfect, but now that it's down, although the other two pieces fit okay, I would have made them a very slight bit differently.
So far I love the stuff! It's easy to keep clean, dries very quickly, and the teak pattern looks fantastic. It's not glued down, and there are no snaps so if I decide to change it down the road it's just a matter of picking it up and cleaning some spots where the Velcro is with adhesive remover.
So far the Velcro has held up well. I had a dozen people on the boat for about 10 hours on the hook last weekend and it didn't budge an inch.

I created a template using clear plastic then transferred that to the sheets, used a few sharp razor blades to do the cuts. go slow is all I can say

Looks great! How did you secure it to the deck?

I have been using EVA products like Hydroturf for probably close to 20 years on stand up jetskis and waverunners. I wouldn't recommend this for a boat installation, but we used to glue it down with contact cement on the trays or gunnels of skis. It can be purchased with different groove patterns to tailor the desired grip. It's great stuff to use in the water and it adds a nice look. Interestingly enough, it doesn't show the teak/holly material that you've after.

Man that looks great. I'm looking for an alternative to carpet as well. Besides the heat, any downsides??

I did my 400da last week and I love it. Total cost for both swim platforms and cockpit , $ $600. Bought it on eBay after looking at samples of Seadek-- and Marine Mat. The stuff was exactly the same and even has 3m adhesive backing.

After talking to romanservices (post #7), we also decided to purchase the same product. The only thing we found with it, is that it does shrink and the colour we chose (grey with black stripes) shows every mark. But it looks awesome. We get tons of compliments. It is a bit warm on the feet too. Our cost was about $700 delivered to Detroit, MI. which was enough to cover the cockpit, and two swim platforms. We will post pics soon.
