Is there a difference between ETS (electronic throttle and shift) and DTS (digital throttle and shift)? Some have suggested that they're the same thing, but the Sea Ray 390 Sedan Bridge, for example, is advertised with the following engine options:
- T-CMD QSB 380 DTS (T-364 PHP) DSL INBOARDS
- T-CMD QSB 380 ETS (T-364 PHP) DSL INBOARDS
- T-Cummins MerCruiser® QSB 380 (T-370 hp - 271 kW) w/ETS (In Lieu of DTS)
This seems to indicate they they are different. I could only find one place on the Cummins web site that gives any detail about both of these, and it's somewhat ambiguous about the distinction.
I'd appreciate enlightenment here...!
Thanks,
