Entering Canada (Toronto Harbor) from United States CBP ROAM app

We also were told to fly a small yellow quarantine flag until registered with Canada border control, then change it to a small Canadian flag as a courtesy/let them know we are registered. We planned on going 2 weeks ago, but smoke hindered that plan. So next summer it is. Also, figure out rules about alcohol. If asked, we were told to announce we had "normal ships stores" aboard. This is from a very experienced Captain who has also done the loop.
What?…… this is all new to me. I have never heard of all this…. I have gone to Canada multiple times and just called in when entering Canada waters….. that’s it.

I highly recommend you call customs ahead of time and figure out the rules for yourself

As an American traveling from the US to Canada directly, if I flew a Q flag until registered with Canadian Customs, I'd look like the fat kid that that wore a bow tie to school on the advice of his mom.

I flew one for years on the bow…… I do it for respect and they are neighbors…… not for customs purposes

Oh Boy. I'm not talking about a Canadian flag, I was talking about the Q flag. My wife is Canadian, been with her for 22 years.

You replied to this: @spikedaddy99 said "We also were told to fly a small yellow quarantine flag until registered with Canada border control, then change it to a small Canadian flag as a courtesy/let them know we are registered"

Trip Successful 8 knots thru Toronto Harbor avoid all ferry traffic and sailboats. After docking call Canadian customs 1888 226 7277 give vessel info and passport info to agent answer any questions then given boarding ID.
They can come to dock and due inspection if they dem it necessary.
Checking back in to states I did use the CBP Roam app and did have my DTOPS and all info in app. Was issued and arrival number no video interview required. Easy process.
