I happen to think the Sea Ray 240SD is almost the perfect sundeck at 26 feet. It just has a lot of everything the boater might want. Having said that, every owner has pet peeves with his or her boat. One of mine on the '07 240SD is cockpit lighting. The bow is OK and the aft part of the cockpit is OK but there is nothing in the forward cockpit area or the passageway to the bow. I ordered a matching round cockpit light from my Sea Ray dealer, bought 6ft of dual strand 18 gauge Anchor wire and some T Tap Quick slide connectors which accept male spade connectors. The T Taps are easy to use just clamp them onto the selected wire with a plier, put a male spade connector on the new wire and push the spade into the slot on the T Tap. I tapped into power at the cockpit light near the boarding steps, ran the new wire through the galley storage area and up behind the table storage securing the wire as I went. Using a hole saw I drilled a new hole for the new light on the forward surface of the galley down low like the existing cockpit lights. The new light takes care of the forward cockpit and passageway. Plus, it sheds some light into floor storage locker when the hatch is open. Fun little project for about $30. Photo below.

Looks great. Sounds like it didn't take too long to do as well.

An inexpensive simple install and pretty easy to do. Recomended.
