I have twin 5.0 MPI in my 280 sundancer and had an electrical problem with the cool fuel fuel pump water proof plug a month or so ago. Searay spliced the factory wire to the fuel pump and rerouted to the dash and we believe the wire is under sized (tomuch draw on the small wire) so at the waterproof quick connect it heated up and started melting the prong inside.
I replaced my stbd side and now my port did the same thing...so I thought. I cut and spliced a pig tail to get back to the marina but when I shut it down it would not start. She almost fired but seamed to struggle for fuel. and I dont hear the pump prime when I hit the toggle switch. Has anyone heard of or had a problem with the cool fuel pumps?

All set There are two water proof quick connects (spring loaded) on the cool fuel and the one directly off the fuel pump was starting to melt/arc. What a poor design for that type of connector.
