i'm new to inboards, can someonr tell me the average temp. a 350 should run. thanks for the help

I had asked a similar question on another site and this is what was told to me....

Raw water cooled is 145F. That can change due to water temp that is coming into
the motor/ winter time. Close water cooled and if it is an older engine (pre vortec )
running temp is set at 155F. Newer mercruisers should be closer to 175F.

Thanks for all the replies. My boat is older with a newer merc in it. my temp runs between 170 and 180. Is there anything i can do to lower it. Thanks for any help.

Still not enough info. You need to put your boat engine and transmission info in your signature to get accurate responses.

Depending on the above requested info, you can put a 142* thermostat in, change the water impeller in your outdrive, or replace the exhaust manifolds and risers to get it within spec.

Good Luck
