I’ve been experiencing a problem this year with keeping the engines synced and looking for some ideas on a resolution. When first starting out at around 5 knots, bringing both engines up evenly the sync indicator is centered up to around 3,200 – 3400 rpm, then the port engine starts to drop 200 – 400 rpm and fluctuates.
The problem was first noticed during the beginning or our 50 mile trip last week but was very slight and appeared to be correctable by “jerking” the throttle up then down. On the return trip the problem had become worse and could not be corrected.
The reduced rpm can also be recognized audibly so I have to assume it is not a faulty Sync indicator.
Fuel filters were changed at the beginning of the season.
Currently fuel tanks are about ¼ full, planning on replacing the fuel filters again and filling up this coming weekend.
Looking for the next step if this doesn’t resolve the problem.
Anyone have similar problems / solutions?
Thanks
