Engine sounds

I have a 320 Sun Dancer with twin 350's. Starboard engine is making a whining sound when running and it gets louder when accelerated through the exhaust. Any help would be nice.

I would suspect the transmission before the engine. How does the fluid look ?

Wouldn't want to run it for very long, but if you start it up with your serp belt off, it would at the least eliminate the accessories hanging on the front of the engine.
