Does anybody know what this message means....NO ENGINE COM?? Engine shut down while underway and would not restart. Had to get towed in! No warning, nothing. Just a short beep and that message then total engine failure!! Very dangerous!!!

The smartcraft unit is no longer getting data from the PCM, start by looking at circuit breaker mounted by relays, other than that will need to find where system lost power. If breaker tripped something is likely overloading the system. Will take some hunting, but should be easy to find for a trained tech, or if your good with electronics, SeaRay give us wiring diagrams to follow. Good Luck

Hey Russd,

Not to sound snarky, but is the system stock? Is there a chart plotter added? Something that would tie in with the SmartCraft System? If everything is stock, Then I would start looking at the connectors from the PCM to the engine. It sounds like you lost either power/ground to something, or a wire is broken/connector corroded. There are some good wiring diagrams online, and in the manuals, but they certainly don't show everything. Unfortunately, depending where you live, finding a good tech that knows the SmartCraft System is going to be tough. Let us know what you find out, or don't find out.
