Wanted to make people aware of this great little device that I found. It's really given me some piece of mind while my boy sits at the marina though the winter. It's kind of expensive but there's no subscription and it texts you the temp at whatever triggers you want. I currently have it set to text me when the temp gets below 40, then 37, then 33. And you can use the app to look back at the log of temps.
You'll need to be able to link it to internet wifi but no need for a computer. Setup is though your phone. Great little device!

Acurite has a similar system for the same price. Except you have the ability to monitor multiple locations in the boat and also water detection.

Agree with Accurite. I have a weather station set up over my helm plus 4 sensors set up around my 40MY. I keep the modem powered up and connected to dock cable so I can view temps and humidity. Easy to set up, nice app. You need a modem though.

Accurite looks like a pretty good value for the money. We have been using Weather Direct Gateways, and TX-60 wireless units for several years now. One gateway covers 4-5 boats in the dock, monitoring bilges, cabin temps and humidity. It does have another TX unit that has a water detector sensor as well. They are about the same cost as this by the time you set up 3 TX and a gateway (actually a bit more). We keep hearing threats that Weather Direct is going to shut down the server that collects the info and makes available on a webpage, as well as send alerts (with a paid subscription). I'll be looking into this as a potential replacement.
One nice thing about multiple boats being monitored is you get a better sense of accuracy. AS batteries weaken, the temps can sometimes go up or down from actual.
