Engine room "odor" in salon

Great. Just as I was getting ready to put my eBay store front up here, you had to go and ruin it for everyone. Thanks a lot. So much for my Beenie Baby business.

Gosh, Boatdoc. Thanks for being SO giving. No one else here has so much practical experience. Is 'experience' available on your website as well. It's probably right next to the arrogance and overconfidence.

Jim and Wesley are awfully polite and tolerant. The rest of us can have fun with you as we see fit. Gary, Frank, Skip, anyone.

I wan't making fun of anyone. I really do want to put my eBay Beenie Baby business up here.

Just to lighten things up, here is the founder of Ty's personal aircraft...... I actually saw it being built up. I think the interior was some 22mil.

Go here and click on "boeing Business Jet" This will give you an idea of how it might look inside.....

back on topic - went down today and took a look in the air conditioner compartment for the first time in about 2 years. it is just a bit larger than the unit itself. the evaporater does not face the return, but since the "box" the unit sits in is so small, there would be no room to create a direct duct to the evaporator. the box is actually very well made. it is completely lined with that aluminum quilted insulation and duct-taped and sealed closed everywhere, except where the duct exits to the salon register. that side of the box is wide open to what is probably an area contiguous with the bilge. i really cant see b/c it is too far tucked in. the only thing i can think to do is stuff that opening tight with fiberglass insulation. maybe that'll block out the odor. interestingly, the other duct that heads to the mid-cabin exits the compartment through a tightly sealed opening, and that cabin gets no smell. could the other duct be perforated? if so, i cant imagine how it could be replaced.
