Engine rebuild question

When you rebuild an engine, how or can you reset the hour meter and do you go to zero?
Interesting question.

The ecm has the accurate hours run and can't be changed

Thank you for the reply scoflaw, Understood that the ECM has the accurate reading.
Then I would need a dated invoice in order to confirm the rebuild.

Newer boats record hours in the ECM and can't be changes as said. If your boat is older, install new hour meters and save the old ones to pass on to the next owner.
