Have a 5.0L Mercrusier in my Sea Ray. Lately while pulling skiers at around 2900 RPM the engine increases RPM by about 300 rpm while losing power. Throttle adjustment sometimes corrects problem. Ran boat without load up to 4800 rpm and ran great. Fuel filter has been replaced. Looking for causes. Can anyone help?
