We ran the OD's onto a sandbar at night time. Tried to get off with out sucking sand into the engines but no luck. So we powered off the sandbar. High temp alarms came on - shut off the engines immediately. Waited a while, turned back on and finished powering off and limped home.
So, the blocks are full of sand. Tstats are clogged.
I am having the boat brought out of the water to my driveway - my question is this; how do I EFFECTIVELY go about washing all of the sand out of the blocks?
Also, am I thinking of driving the boat a short distance at low RPM to the loading ramp and was planning to just remove the Tstats for that... ok?
Anyway, if anyone knows an effective process to flush these blocks thoroughly I would really appreciate hearing it.
Thanks
