My 260DA is all winterized, wrapped, and is in storage for the winter. When i put it away, I didnt know how to get the engine hatch fully closed since you obviously have to disconnect the batteries for the winter but you cant close the hatch after the batteries are disconnected. Well I just found out how to get the hatch closed. My question, is it ok for the hatch to stay about a foot open all winter or is that bad on the hatch lift?

Grimm,
The PO of my boat used to disconnect the piston and leave a 2 x 4 under the edge. My mechanic disconnects the piston and ties a nylon strap to the underside of the hatch.
Can you possibly support the hatch with something so you can take some of the pressure off of the lift?

As part of your owner manuals and other stuff in the SR bag you should have sigarette plug adapter that connects to the battery (when it's out) and the other end plugs in the the sigarette plug at the helm. This provides 12v power and you can close the hatch by operating the hatch buttons (down/up).
