How fresh are the batteries? You sure the motor is dead? Last year when I was winterizing, the batteries died and I almost died. I found the different holes into the engine to pop the pins out to 'try' to lift the hatch....good luck with that, damn thing weighs a ton and I didn't want to pry it with a crowbar or screw driver since its putting pressure on the fiberglass. I ended up calling Searay and they told me to hook up a battery pack to the cigarette lighter to reverse the energy back to the batteries, SAVED!

Sadly batteries are good. Its one ram that failed. So it cocks to one side as it tries to rise Im confident I can " GET IT UP " but i want parts on hand. : O ( yea yea )

In this case, if you can get up enough, and slip in the hole, I don't think it would be that 'hard' to change out the motor. You can take the pins off the lift and unholy the motor for a new one....just my .02 cents

I just replaced mine. I used a company called Concentric. Not cheep but experts. I dealt with Mike in the tech dept. they even changed the gear ratio so it moves a lot faster. 2.5" / second. Good luck

Riptide,
What info did u need to give them. I dont have the fully open and fully closed measurements. I did locate the searay part # . it appears the same ram is on multiple vessels.

I guess i wait til monday to talk to distributors. Changing the gear ratio was very smart on ur part .

I gave him the travel length but all he needed was the numbers off the old actuator. He was able to cross reference. My new actuato has adjustable stops and a built in potentiometer if you felt the need to use it. I didn't. You may since you have dual Rams.

Mine was just stuck! I took it off the boat open the back end where the gears are moved it I 1/4 turn then greased everything and it has been working for 2 years now !

You can't complain much about that. Seems in the ball park from my research. Good luck with them.

Im happy its done ! just waiting on the package . Ill be happy when its completed . ( was expecting the damages to be much worse )
