My 330 DA is 1 year old. Yesterday the starboard engine went into safety mode (1100 rpm max) everytime I got up on plane. Oil pressure, temp, voltage all looked fine. Any thoughts?

Mine did the same thing on Friday...starboard engine also...after it set idling for about 30 seconds it would take throttle again...my guy said it might be the water pressure sensor (just a guess without checking it out)..... Took it out on Saturday and it didn't do it again.

I am not familiar with your Smart Craft version - but I imagine if it is going into guardian you should be able to read through alarm history to see what intermittent fault triggered guardian mode. If not I would get someone with a Rinda or mercruiser scan tool to tell you.

You do not say of the fault is still there or it went away - but in my case - I would be looking straight at the Raw Water pressure sensors and maybe swapping them over to see if the fault moves to Port - that's if you can replicate the fault.

Hope it is just a sensor. I have a single 350 w/BR 3. Had the same thing happen last year- June 2014 ( boat bought new, 2011,had 300 hrs) I got no read out from the gauges. Found out the manifold, risers, gaskets etc were corroded out. Had to replace them all.
Two weeks ago guardian stopped it again. No read out this time either. Tech says the manifolds, risers, gaskets are gone again, after only 1 year . I think something is wrong with my engine as this is not normal.

My boat is only a year old - I certainly don't want to have to replace the manifolds and risers every year. I took the boat out two more times and it did the same thing twice. Turning the engine off and then back on would get me going again. It is going in for its 1 year service so I will have them check it out and post the results.

Find another mechanic, manifolds and risers last for years before replacement
do you have catalytic sensors? If its a water pressure sensor, I would omit it and wire in some resistors of the correct value , keep an eye on the temp gauge, and replace the impeller as necessary.

Got a different mechanic coming next week. He is not connected to MarineMax, who I have used in the past. I will post what he finds wrong.
