Engine Flush after Salt Water use

What I don't get is everyone post these flush kits and only that brass one that you can build yourself actually will flush the outdrive all the others only flush the engine, is no one concerned about salt in their outdrive?

I agree! Even though I'm an "Iowa" boater and the only salt I run into is on the table...... The outdrive should is as important as the motor to flush. Muffs are the key! The only B%$#tch is that is will be hard to place on the drive even with the engines trailered up all the way from the swim platform. I would try to find a way to create a removable temporary plank near the waterline if possible to walk on. Then, I would get two pairs of muffs and two water sources to do both engines at once. I'm not sure, but if you have enough fresh water in your fresh water tank, you might be able to use the spigot in the aft compartment as a water source also. (With water pump running of course).

My outdrive does not draw water into the engine... I have a separate intake at the bottom of my hull. The following photo I dump 2 or more ozs of Saltaway into the strainer and run the garden hose to the orange connector in the photo. Run the engine for 20-30 secs as per the manual and the Saltaway will remove the salt deposits. I run fresh water through the outdrive w/o using muffs.
