I only got my boat out about 4 times this year because of the fractured ribs and punctured lung. So maybe 5 hours running time. Would all of you still change the engine oil and drive oil. I know I should but being on workers comp I don't want to unless I definitely should, thanks guys, as usual

Thanks @scoflaw . Did it last oct. Semi synthetic 25-40 Merc oil and quicksilver 90wt Hi performance drive oil, and oil and fuel filters

Your signature doesn’t tell us where you boat, but if the boat sits in salt water I would still change the oil. If you trailer i would agree with scoflaw.

Sorry on Cape cod. I trailer it. And flush with salt away after every use

I haven't figured out yet how to update profile, sorrry

You’re probably fine. Only issue I see is a determination whether you have a leak in the outdrive and water in the fluid. But probably fine.

I would say don't worry about it. Pull some samples and get them analyzed. Water and Sodium content will be your determining factor. Belts and Suspenders.

That was my thought should aleast do the drive oil to check for water

If your doing this yourself, rather than oil samples etc, why not just change the oil and filter while your doing the drive oil, it’s cheap. This is so easy on a trailer that for five quarts and a filter, you will have peace of mind and not second guess yourself all winter…

Been there, done that. I check the condition of the engine oil and if it still looks golden I don't change it.

However, being in a northern climate I ALWAYS run out an ounce of outdrive oil to check for water. Then put an ounce back in. If it still looks good, no need to change it.

Seals never go bad and water never intrudes, but just my luck that ONE time I didn't check it the outdrive freezes over Winter.

I’m in the same boat ;) I didn’t even go through a tank of gas this Summer. I think I’m going to skip the oil, spin on a new fuel filter and go one more season.

I will definitely run out and ounce of gear oil, thanks guys

Not one tank of gas? Did I miss the thread why you didn’t use the boat?

Sorry about the delay - too much stuff to do around here, including winterizing.

We had a lot of stuff going around our new home this Summer. I had travel for work which limited time at the cabin as well. Plus, when we did make our trips to the cabin on Lake Superior, the weather didn’t cooperate. One long weekend we were up, the boat stayed on the trailer. Of course the day we were coming home, it was nice.
