The last 4 or 5 times I've taken the boat out I've had trouble flushing out engine after I got the boat back to the house.

The boat runs great all day with no problems starting. Then after being out all day I trailer the boat and make the 15 minute ride home. After I get home I hook up the muffs and start it up with no problem. The engin runs for about a minut and then revs up and down a few times and dies. After this happens it cannot be restarted until I let it cool down for a few hours.

Anyone have a similar problem or any ideas?

I'm thinking this is some type of fuel vaper lock thing, but don't know where to start looking. The engine usually runs at 170, and it has only cooled down to about 160 by the time I get home, however this never happens out on the water when I shut down and start up????

Thanks,
Clay

Yes I'm boating in the Gulf. The fuel cooler would make sense, I'm guessing the fuel vaporizes in the line and that lets it run for a few minutes before it dies.

I didn't get a chance to try running the blowers on the way home because the water circulating pump failed while out yeaterday (got to get towed in by Seatow). I;ll be changing pump this week and try agin next weekend.

Thanks.
