Uopn accelerating after passing a no wake zone, the engine bogged down and didnt pop out of the water as it usually does. I backed off of the throttle and did it again and this time it was fine. Running back to my dock, i tried to recreate the issue and it did it one more time, again after accelerating hard form an idle. I also ran it wide open for a minute at time to try to blow out anything that may have been lodged in the filter? Didnt seem to help / hurt. Idles fine.
The engine is a 8.1L with about 300 hours on it. short list of things to look at / replace?
Thanks

Check wires and plugs if not done recently that's if fuel filters have been changed just my .02

I had a similiar issue last year. Had the carbs rebuilt and it fixed the problem. Of course I changed the plugs, wires, dist cap, rotors and fuels filters before I did the carbs. It was a trail and error process for me. Engines have been running great since I did all this, so it was worth it.

I agree with Mainstream. Even if the plugs look good, one may not be firing properly under load but firing ok at idle. All my plugs looked the same. Once I replaced all the plugs the problem was resolved...

Thanks guys.. filter followed by plugs...
Just dont understand the intermitance. thought would be consistent lag...
can actually handle both of those tasks by myself!
thanks
