END OF SEASON FLUID CHANGE

Is it better to change oil and lower unit gear lube at the end of the season or in the spring
of the next season? Boating in Northern IL fresh water. Winter storage indoors. I will have marina complete winterizing on motor.

End of season. Get all the nasty stuff out of there.

Change the oil, run it for 5-10 minutes to circulate fresh oil throughout the internals, including the lifters themselves.

Keep oil In the outdrive whether it’s on or off the boat. This will prevent condensation from forming inside the casing.
