Embarrassing moment

Back to the programming:

I give a safety brief only. I make everyone wear their life jackets while underway and show them where the fire extinguisher and abandon ship bag is.

Mike - i hear ya, most of the times non boating guests can be a pain. We just had 12 people on the boat, all family, 1/2 kids and it was just chaos. As you said, i had to redo everthing they tried to help with. I even was told by one person on board " how do you do this, it's to much work". With that experience we have decided not to bring non boaters out anymore. If they dont get boating, stay away. That said, we usually have wonderful experiences with other boaters.

We take non boaters out all the time. They aren't boaters, so we prefer they don't help. We've had several depart as the hull hit the pilings- no "let's help wrap up" or anything like that - but happy emails later. Some have brought coolers that could hide several dead bodies which don't fit on our boat (but perhaps an aircraft carrier). It just requires management. No - please don't bring food - we'll have plenty. Reely, cheesepuffs and redwine don't go well with the boat's colors. Drinks- of course - we have everything - no kegs needed. Help - please do - watch my kids while we dock.

sorry for the hijack... but need to add a few facts. We were at Poest's cove. Temp was between 58 and 65. Ac hookup was available. Maybe he didnt want to pay for it. All is well but next time I believe I would say something. I wouldnt want to be offensive, but the CO2 is a good reason to speak up.

There are rules against using gensets at the docks of marinas. Check that.

Settled up today. Bottle of wine (that was actually given to me from the tresspassing guest)and an apology . My dock neighbor was very cool about it. He siad he almost forgot about the incident.
