Anyone have any recommendations for someone who can advise on building a system and can install it? I'm looking at upgrading from my northstar setup that came with the boat.

Is there any particular reason that you are not considering PWM? Not suggesting you should or should not, just curious. I have heard good things about Clean Marine Electronics. Has has a lot of high end clients and has done many high end systems. He is also good with generators.

I'm just trying to see what my options are at this point. For something this expensive I want to shop it around and get some referrals.

I'm not sure how mobile he is, but Jim (BOE Marine, the owner of this forum) has his store up near Annapolis.

Thanks Dennis. Yeah I've been told he's a go to guy for electronics. What I am planning on doing right now is going to the end of season boat shows and talking to some reps there. I'll probably stop by BOE as well. If I can get an idea of what equipment I need I can source it and then guide my local guys on the install. Or I can bring my boat up to Annapolis and enjoy the trip up.

I had BOE do the electronics on both of my boats. Jim was very helpful in planning the layout and his guys did great work. I believe they also do mobile installations.

Pretty sure they do. I've seen some BOE vans at my marina, IIRC. I'd give the big thumbs up to them for the work... super quality workmanship and very competitive pricing from what I've seen.

I have been very disappointed in boat shows around here lately from that aspect. I went to the Annapolis show last year with the intention of researching electronics and other such things. BOE made a good showing, but other than them there was not much to see. It seems that boat shows are much more about selling new boats than outfitting your current boat. I suppose that is why they are called boat shows...

Cant say enough good things about Jim and the BOE team. Jim helped me pick out what I needed and gave some good guidance/recommendations. Vince from BOE came out and did the install with the boat on our pier. Quick, fast, knowledgeable, clean, quality, and the best priced quote I found... what more can you ask for! Still satisfied 5 years later.

I miss the "old" boat shows, too. The NY show used to have a whole room dedicated to accessories. Now, it's like barely half an isle.
