Electronic Gizmo?

I have this gizmo mounted near the helm. I believe it is some kind of fuel fume detector. Can anyone id it? and tell me how to test it and see if it works? Also need a new nob for it....


Also an operators manual would be nice.

That is an older Scentry made by Aqua Meter, which is no longer in business.

Someone who is very tech-savvy once told me that sniffers have a finite life of maybe five years anyway, so it may be time for a new one.....

Thanks that what I thought it was... Since I cant find a manual or anything else about it I will start looking for a new one.

It is your Boat and your Life (and that of your friends and family) You might want to move it up a bit on your priority list. If a fuel hose were to start leaking or a carb float sticks you might wish the sniffer was up and running.
