I have been having an issue with my Port drive and, very recently issues with what appears to be the Port engine electrical system. I had the Port lower shift cable replaced by a very competent Mercruiser tech (who has worked on this boat since I bought it new in 2007), which remedied the in/out of gear stalling. My more serious problem is the Port engines’ need to be started with the emergency start switch on occasion. When this occurs the engine starts easily with the emergency switch but the voltmeter fluctuates between 10-15 volts in a swinging motion. When the engine is turned off, the tach stays 1000 rpm, and there is no power to the anchor, radio, water pump etc. Then…just as mysteriously as it appears, the problem goes away, the engine starts normally and everything works….I initially thought I had a bad battery and replaced all three…and we all know how that worked….(it didn’t fix anything). I’m getting the feeling that at 600hrs this boat is going to start giving me issues….My friends with much older boats never have these issues! Please help….
